Last night, 50 people gathered at the Stock Exchange Bakery for Cannoli & Gun’s inaugural sold out film + food event, screening Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds and serving delicious fresh strudel and milk.
Baked late yesterday afternoon, the strudel and cream was presented as people arrived, together with the nice cold milk. Many had taken advantage of the proximity of nearby businesses for their pre-pastry meal, popping to Bagel Boy opposite, or heading to Brew Bristol for their BYO beer. Bristol is a great place for food and drink.
After a short welcome from Tim, a couple of trailers for forthcoming events preceded the main event, Tarantino’s glo(u)rious return to form. Equal measures horrifying, tense, and funny, Inglourious Basterds is not a short film, but with the drinks and freshly popped popcorn that was also available, the evening seemed to go particularly fast.
And feedback coming in was positive.
Fancy getting in on this action? You can join us for one (or both!) of our next two film+food events.
On May 29th, we’re going back to 1959 with the classic 1986 coming-of-age drama STAND BY ME, which is being served with delicious fresh fruit pies back at the Stock Exchange Bakery. Check here for more info.
And on June 22nd, we’re going back to 1994 with the frankly iconic PULP FICTION, served with fries and a tasty burger at Chomp Grill. It will be popular, and tickets are already going. Check here for more info.
