On 23 July, Cannoli & Gun‘s fourth event follows three sell-out film-food events to join forces with City Deli Bristol to bring you When Harry Met Sally, served with a delicious choice of New York style deli sandwiches, and a slice of pecan pie.
Back in 1989, Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan were at the peak of their success, and with When Harry Met Sally they collaborated on their finest achievement. With a script by Nora Ephron, and direction by Rob Reiner, When Harry Met Sally is *the* single greatest romantic comedy. It posits that age-old question of whether men and women can be platonic friends, or whether sex always gets in the way.
Over the course of a decade or two, Harry and Sally meet off and on, before becoming friends and, maybe, more. Harry is laid back, easy-going, while Sally is neurotic, precise, and knows exactly how she likes her sandwiches. She likes things on the side. On the side is a big deal for her.
Which brings us to our event in July. We’re teaming up with the lovely folk at City Deli Bristol to recreate that classic scene in Katz’s Deli in New York, in which Sally, put out that Harry believes he can tell the difference between a fake orgasm and a real one, decides to prove him wrong…
You can choose between a turkey sandwich, which is what Sally had, or a pastrami sandwich, which is what Harry had. (Or you can choose a veggie option.)
And as if a delicious New York deli style sandwich wasn’t enough – and they are big sandwiches for big appetites – we’re also serving a slice of pecan pie. (Over-peppered paprikash is not available.)
Entry, the sandwich and the pie is all included with your ticket, but City Deli also stock a wide range of beverages, both alcoholic and soft, and these will be available to purchase on the night.
When: Thursday 23 July, 2015. 8pm, doors open 7pm.
Tickets: SOLD OUT. Includes sandwich, pecan pie, and entry. There may be a small number available on the door.
